Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What can I expect during my first appointment as a new patient?

Once the initial medical history forms have been completed, you will receive a comprehensive exam complete with digital x-rays, a head and neck cancer screening, a periodontal evaluation, and baseline dental charting. We will then discuss the current state of your dental health with you and develop a plan for your future dental needs.

  2. Can I reach a dentist if I have a dental emergency after hours?

Yes. Call Collins Dental Group at (815) 758-3666 if you have a dental emergency. You will receive directions on how our current patients can reach one of our staff dentists. If you are not yet a patient, we will be happy to help you during normal business hours.

  3. Will you take me as a patient even though I do not have dental insurance?

Yes. We welcome all new patients. We have a variety of affordable payment options available to our patients including convenient dental payment plans for those who need it.

  4. Will you accept my insurance?

Most likely, yes. Dental insurance is designed to reduce the cost of dental care, not eliminate it. As a benefit, we will file all fees for service and out-of-network dental insurance claims for our patients. Unfortunately, we do not take HMO insurance.

  5. What cosmetic services do you offer?

Collins Dental Group will help you create the smile you’ve always wanted with cosmetic dental services including teeth veneers, bonding, 1-hour in-office teeth whitening with ZOOM! Whitening, custom at-home whitening kits, and ceramic dental crowns for optimal esthetics. We also offer crowns and bridges that will match your natural tooth color or whiten your smile. We can help our patients with affordable full dental dentures and partial dentures as well as dental implants to replace missing teeth.

  6. How much will my treatment cost?

The actual cost of your treatment will vary depending on the type and length of treatment. Procedures at Collins Dental Group are competitively priced. We accept most dental insurance and offer convenient payment options, as well. If you have specific questions about the costs of dental implants, veneers, dentures, or another specific treatment, please give us a call.
